The Magical Golden Guinea Pig

One day a little boy said excitedly to his mommie, "Mommie, mommie, can I have a guinea pig?"

"Ok, honey, lets go to the pet store and choose one", said the mommie.

When they got there the little boy ran to look at all the guinea pigs. One little golden guinea pig came over and crawled right up into his hands. "I want this golden one," said the little boy.

The mommie wanted the cute tiny brown one. It was so tiny and adorable and looked like it really needed a home, but the little boy was sad because he really wanted the gold one. It felt so good in his arms, and it came right to him like it already was his. He knew this was the guinea pig for him. He didn't want the others. If he couldn't have this guinea pig he didn't want one, so the mom got the gold guinea pig for the little boy and they went home.

The little boy named the guinea pig squeeks because it squeeked so much, and it grew and grew and grew till it was really HUGE and FAT.

One night the little boy had gone to bed but wasn't asleep yet when he saw that the guinea pig was climbing out of his cage. The little boy saw the guinea pig lift his leg and it looked like light shot out to the ball lifting it and floating it into the toy box. He had forgotten to clean his room that night like he always did. Once the ball was in the toybox, then Squeeks started to float all the other toys into the toy box. Then he just climbed back into his cage and went into his box.

The little boy sat in bed with his eyes open big, he was so surprised. He had thought mommie had been coming in and cleaning his room after he went to bed and fell asleep, and it was the golden guinea pig all the time! He had a magical gold guinea pig! He smiled as he fell asleep and dreamed about all the fun things he could do with his magical golden guinea pig.

The next morning the little boy woke up. He yawned and looked at his cage. Squeeks was gone! He looked everywhere in his room, then ran down the hall to tell his mom. He was so afraid his Squeeks was gone. As he went into the kitchen to tell his mom he looked at the table and saw that the guinea pig was crawling up his chair onto the table and was about to eat his scrambled eggs!

"OH NO!" thought the little boy, "Momma is gonna be SOOOOO mad if she sees Squeeks on the kitchen table!" He hurried and ran to grab Squeeks and hide him behind his back.

Mother turned around and looked at the little boy strangely. "What are you hiding behind your back this morning little boy?" He just shrugged and said "Nothing!" Then smiled real sweet and told mom, "The eggs looked REAL good and I'm STARVING!" She was so happy he was hungry and in such a good mood she forgot he was hiding something and went to finish cooking breakfast.

The little boy quietly snuck the guinea pig back into his room. He was afraid his momma wouldn't let him keep the guinea pig if she found out it was magical.

"Squeeks, I saw you last night. I know you are magic and I hope you can understand me. PLEASE stay in your box and I"ll sneak you some eggs!" Then the little boy put Squeeks in the box and quickly ran back into the kitchen before the mother discovered he had snuck off.

He sat real happy and ate his breakfast. When momma wasn't looking, he snuck some eggs into a napkin and put them in his pocket for squeeks. When the boy came back to his room, Squeeks was waiting there like a good little guinea pig and seemed to smile real big when he saw the little boy take out the napkin with eggs.

When the boy put down the eggs, the silly guinea pig ate the napkin AND the eggs. For a magical guinea pig he sure seems silly, thought the little boy. The guinea pig scurried off into his box and the little boy wondered if he had imagined it. He shrugged, then grabbed his stuff for school and left for the day.

The little boy told his best friend at school that his guinea pig was magical. His friend laughed at him thinking it was so silly, but they decided to find out for sure. The little boy invited his friend over to sleep for the night but they weren't going to sleep, they were going to watch for the guinea pig to do magic then catch it while it was doing magic and see what would happen.

So they had supper, got their baths and acted REAL tired and yawned a lot telling each other how reallllly tired and sleepy they were. They laid down and tried not to giggle but it was hard. Then they watched and watched, but nothing happened. They almost thought they were wrong when suddenly Squeeks climbed out of his box and started cleaning the room!

The guinea pig stopped cleaning and sat there in the middle of the room looking frightened. The little boy climbed out of bed, quietly shut his door so him momma wouldn't hear or see, then turned on the light. Both boys crawled down and laid on the floor beside the guinea pig.

The guinea pig looked frightened for a moment, then crawled over to the little boy's friend and tweeked his nose making a giggly noise. The little boys nose grew really big then shrank back to normal. They both said "Wooooooooooooh! AWESOME! COOOOL"

The guinea pig made more funny giggly squeeky noises and the little boy thought what a shame he couldn't talk but life is going to be such fun with a magic guinea pig!
